EBI operates three distinct internship programs spanning local government, luxury hospitality, and retirement services. Our internships are designed to immerse interns in real-world work environments. Whichever path you choose, the Project SEARCH model helps you master transferable skills and build a standout résumé. We ensure graduates seamlessly transition into job development and secure competitive employment.

And EBI’s commitment doesn’t stop at graduation: once you land a job, we provide customized, on-the-job support for as long as you need it.

Our Internship Sites

County of Alameda

Oakland, CA

Gain valuable administrative and clerical experience working directly within local government agencies and civic departments.

Focus: Local Government & Administration
Timeline: February — January
Key Tasks: Data entry, digital archiving, mailroom operations, database management, and office projects.
Placements Include: District Attorney’s Office, Public Defender, Sheriff’s Office, and County Library.

Claremont Resort & Spa

Berkeley, CA

Develop specialized skills in luxury hospitality and guest services at one of the Bay Area’s most iconic historic resorts.

Focus: Luxury Hospitality & Service
Timeline: January — December
Key Tasks: Housekeeping, culinary prep, spa amenity assembly, commercial laundry operations, and groundskeeping.
Placements Include: Culinary department, environmental services, spa facilities, and guest accommodations.

Stoneridge Creek

Pleasanton, CA

Support a vibrant senior living community while building foundational skills in healthcare support and facility operations.

Focus: Retirement Services & Operations
Timeline: February — January (11-months)
Key Tasks: Dining room service, food prep, assisting with resident activities, facility maintenance, and housekeeping.
Placements Include: Dining services, resident life programs, and community maintenance.

Daily Schedule

Hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Mon-Fri)

Classroom: 1.5 hours of soft-skills learning (unpaid)

Worksite: 3.5 hours of hands-on work experience (paid time)

Are You Eligible?

Client of the Regional Center of the East Bay.

At least 22 years old by start date, or graduated with a high school diploma.

Able to utilize public transportation.

Pass required health and background checks.

Commitment to work, learn, and maintain excellent attendance.

Demonstrate professionalism and the ability to learn the tasks offered by the site with 25% job coaching support.
