Client Spotlight: Sharon

An outdoor portrait photograph capturing a joyful close-up interaction between a woman and a horse. --- ### Central Subjects * **The Woman:** Located on the left side of the frame, she has short, curly light-brown hair and is laughing heartily with her mouth open. She is wearing small, rectangular sunglasses with blue-tinted lenses and a bright yellow-gold turtleneck top. Her right hand is brought up near her chin. * **The Horse:** Positioned on the right side of the frame, a dark brown or black horse is seen in profile, extending its muzzle close to the woman's face. The horse has a small, faint white mark on its nose. --- ### Background * **Setting:** The background is softly blurred with a shallow depth of field, revealing out-of-focus green trees and foliage, suggesting a natural outdoor paddock, ranch, or park setting.

“What will happen to her later in life?” In LIFE magazine, December 1996, the Oakland-based photographer, Leon Borensztein, posed this question about his daughter, Sharon. It was important to Leon that Sharon experience a loving, full childhood. For many years, he alone provided the extensive daily care that went along with her having a visual impairment, seizure disorder, and autism. All the while, they spent time exploring and enjoying their Bay Area community.
